Good product titles are built from accurate product attributes in a deliberate order.

Start with product identity

The title should clearly identify what the product is. Generic source names such as Trainer, Hoodie or Case usually need more context.

Add distinguishing attributes

Brand, gender, product type, model, colour, size, material or pack size can help when they genuinely differentiate the item. Do not add irrelevant search terms just because they have volume.

Keep the landing page aligned

The feed title should describe the same product the user sees after clicking. Feed optimisation should improve structure, not create a different promise.

Handle variants consistently

A variant-aware title rule should use fields that change between variants and avoid producing duplicate or contradictory text.

Use rules for scale

If thousands of products share the same structural pattern, build the title from fields rather than editing rows manually. Preview the rule against a sample before applying it to the full catalogue.

Treat AI-generated titles as a controlled workflow

Google now distinguishes generative-AI titles through the structured_title attribute. If AI is used, the workflow should preserve the input context, approval state and destination requirement rather than silently replacing the standard title field.
